The Graduating Mom

I feel as though I have graduated into another phase of my life. What an honor it has been to raise and educate my child. Praise God that we still have this right and privilege.

Our oldest daughter just graduated from high school this past June. It was a beautiful graduation. There were only 6 graduates. The services started with a fun video slide projection of the 6 graduates having fun together to the tune of Miracles Happen. Then, a slide presentation for each graduate was played. Our daughter's presentation was done to the patriotic song "American Child". The school principle then gave a speech on the value of education and homeschooling. Following the speech, each family was individually called forward and the parents were given the honor to present their child with their diploma. I tried to speak, but after sharing just a few sentiments I could do little more than cry. Over the course of the ceremony there wasn't a dry eye in the house. My husband expressed gratitude to me for giving up my career to homeschool our children. My daughter then thanked everyone who has touched her life and credited them for what they taught her and for them all being a part of who she is today.

To My Daughter...
It has been a privilege and honor to have been blessed by God with you as my daughter. You have grown to be a fine young lady and responsible young adult. I praise God to have you as my business partner. Although you are only 17 years old, you are a wonderful business leader! My the Lord bless anything you put your hand to.
